Amanda Lee and Shannon Records hiked Katahdin in August 2006.
The end of the Appalachian Trail was a breathtaking trip - even engulfed by the clouds.
We treked up Abol trail to the Tablelands, walked in the clouds to Baxter Peak (the end of the AT)
and then descended on the Hunt Trail. The rain and clouds did not deter us from this once in a life time experience.
The Hunt trail provided us with some spectacular views of the ridge and surrounding mountains. We relaxed at the end by
enjoying some ice cold mountain water from Katahdin Stream. It was an 11mile hike round trip.
