Ponkapoag Pond Cabin WeekendBlue Hills Reservation

Our weekend in the wilderness began Friday night as 10 of us headed out to the
AMC's cabins on Ponkapoag Pond at Blue Hills Reservation in Randolph, MA.
|
We stayed at the water's edge in two rustic cabins furnished with wood stoves and bunk beds.
|
Saturday morning we got up early to hike the trail surrounding the pond. The weather was gorgeous, but very chilly.

Victoria, Libby, Hilary, Willa, Robin, Ashley and Katie cross a bog along the trail.

After a lunch break, we embarked on a longer, afternoon hike where Robin, Libby and Victoria discovered a little known fact that boulders do indeed have eyes! |

We returned to the cabins where Nora and Ashley cooked up some yummy stuff for dinner.
Then it was on to a relaxing night of card games and "catch-phrase".

On Sunday we left the cabins and drove to Chickatawbut Overlook within Blue Hills Reservation for our
final hike of the weekend before heading back to Clark. Despite the cold March nights, our adventure was
a great getaway! |
