Two years ago we hiked the western part of the Mt. Holyoke Range to the summit of Mt. Norwottuck and had an
amazing adventure. This time we returned to tackle Mt. Holyoke at the range's eastern end. Needless to
say, we had another great day! Our roundabout route up the mountain on the Dry Brook, Black Rock, and Metacomet-Monadnock
Trails afforded some really nice views to the southeast and north as we ascended. Here's one of them... a birds-eye view of UMass Amherst.

After Max and Nate catch some rest we continue on our way, descending into Taylor's Notch and
then up again to the Mt. Holyoke summit.

You can't see Russia from the front porch of the Mt. Holyoke Summit House, but you can see Mt. Tom across the river. |
