Lubaina, Julia and Sarah (and Mugsy) Mt. Monadnock is one of our favorite mountains, and we were treated to a gorgeous day for the first of our two Monadnock hikes this fall. With pleny of sunshine and a forest on the cusp of turning fall colors, the views heading up the mountain were sights to see. Here, Lubaina, Julia, Sarah, and Mugsy get an early taste of the gorgeous mountain scenery.

As we come upon another great lookout point, Kristen re-enacts The Lion King with Mugsy. It's becoming somewhat of a club tradition!

group on rocks Our group relaxes after scrambling up and over rocks in the hot sun.

Upon reaching the summit the views were outstanding! To our northeast we could see Dublin Lake, and looking southeast toward Jaffrey on the opposite side of the ridge were Thorndyke Pond and Gilmore Pond.

We fan out to explore the summit. William takes the high ground on top of a mound of rock while Gabrielle goes searching for caves.

Julia and Lubaina find a perfect rock upon which to chill out, while Caroline inhabits a small island in one of the summit pools.
