About
The Clark Undergraduate Student Council advances the interests of students and ensures that students play a vital role in decisions at the University.
As the charter reads:
The students of Clark University hereby establish a Clark Undergraduate Student Council (CUSC), an entity which empowers students to co-ordinate activities and effect change within their university. The CUSC shall ensure a vital and active forum for students to rally support for their causes, activities and organizations; to voice discontent; and to mediate satisfying and beneficial solutions to the concerns of all Clark undergraduates. The CUSC shall be entrusted with the power to charter, fund, and co-ordinate the activities of student organizations and for other purposes.
There are three primary branches: The Executive Board and the Representative Council (Hall, Class, Commuter, Transfer, Equity & Inclusion, International Representatives, Athlete Representative) are elected from and by the undergraduate student body to represent the undergraduate population to the council as a whole and the administration and faculty.
Appointed Council includes Judiciary Committee members and Grants Committee members, appointed from the undergraduate student body by the CUSC President, and sworn in by the CUSC Representatives.
The Student Council is charged by the Trustees of Clark University as caretakers for the Student Activities Fee in its entirety. The CUSC is responsible for supporting the undergraduate student body by providing funds to all recognized student organizations, large-scale campus programming, and student initiatives.
